FQS Bella Parade Post # 6

Lets visit the neutrals again today,

Bella Solids Gray Yardage SKU# 9900-83

According to Wikipedia,
"Grey (also spelled gray in the United States, see spelling differences) describes the colors ranging from black to white. These, including white and black, are known as achromatic colors or neutral colors.
Complementary colors are defined to mix to grey, either additively or subtractively, and many color models place complements opposite each other in a color wheel. To produce grey inRGB displays, the R, G, and B primary light sources are combined in proportions equal to that of the white point. In four-color printing, greys are produced either by the black channel, or by an approximately equal combination of CMY primaries. Images which consist wholly of neutral colors are called monochromeblack-and-white or greyscale.
The first recorded use of grey as a color name in the English language was in AD 700."
This again in a versatile color... The possible combinations and looks are numerous...
In itself, when used with other graded grays, it creates dramatic quilts...
It is also a popular neutral as it goes well will both warm and cool colors...
Like I said, the possibilities are innumerable...
So what would you use with gray?
Our guest quilter for today,Suzanne Linder from Girl for All Seasons has made a fabulous array of fabrics for you to choose from...

Here's what she says "Gray is a great neutral that can make other colors really pop. It can work with sophisticated, minimal designs and with soft, vintage prints. I also appreciate the practicality of gray in baby quilts--it works with a number of color palettes and it is much easier to keep clean than white."

  2. I'm liking gray more and more. Love the pics posted.

  3. Love the grey and lime green. I am seeing more use of grey instead of black with brights.

  4. Interesting to see the grey with the avairy 2...I am trying to pick a solid to go with that range! Might have solved my dilemma.
