Hi all, still having fun???
You were right, yesterday's color was Canary!!!
Congratulations!
And moving on to today's color! Its a beautiful shade of red!!!
And here are the hints!
1. It is the name of a city that stands on a former island at the mouth of the a river by the same name on the Atlantic coast. The city's motto is "ferit aurum industria" which means "work brings wealth".
2. The diet using this hot ingredient was made famous by Beyonce Knowles

So how would i use this color?
First up is my monochromatic scheme :
Using it with Pale Pink & Country Red gives me this wonderful color scheme!
Dont you just love it?
Now to pair it in a complementary scheme, I'd make it a Christmas combination using Emerald
And for a creative combination, I'd pair it with a couple of greys...
Zen Grey & Etchings Slate

It looks such a professional combination! I can imagine wearing a suit for a business meeting in these colors - formal, yet making a statement!
Now using it with prints!!!
I'd definitely use it in a Christmas combination
like A Merry Little Christmas by Zoe Pearn for Riley Blake Designs
Though, it is a floral color, I would not like to pair it with other red floral prints. It will be all too much for me!
But I'd pair it with some pale florals in neutral colors
Portico Fat Quarter BundleDear Stella Fabrics
And I'd sure play with some graphic prints
Colorful Paint Box Fat Quarter BundleCynthia Rowley for Michael Miller Fabrics
Newsprint Spot On Fat Quarter Bundle
Robert Kaufman Fabrics
Draft Just My Type Fat Quarter Bundle
Patty Young for Michael Miller Fabrics
From the upcoming lines, I'd select
Hexi Print Fat Quarter BundleThe RBD Designers for Riley Blake Designs
and
Mixed Bag Fat Quarter BundleStudio M for Moda Fabrics
To make a kids quilt, I'd go with the nautical theme for boys...
Barnegat Bay Fat Quarter BundleStudio 37 for Marcus Brothers Fabrics
and
Flats Fat Quarter BundleAngela Yosten for Moda Fabrics
Did you like my selection???
What would you pair it with?
And would you like to win one yard of it?
Here's how to do that.
1. Mandatory entry. Guess the name of today's Color and leave a comment with the name.
2. For extra entries, you can post links to photos taken by you with the Color of the Day in it.
One entry per photo. You can enter as many as you want. They could be anywhere, your blog, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram... Absolutely anywhere on the world wide web. The only condition is that IT MUST BE TAKEN BY YOU. If anyone is found to link to somebody else's photo, they will be banned from the event! To increase your chances to win, enter as many photos as you can. 1 comment per photo link.
Good luck & have a great day!!!
Cheers!!!
